This page is dedicated to running Linux (mainly Red Hat) on the Abit NV7-133R motherboard. This motherboard has several unique features that may pose problems under Linux, such as the nForce chipset and the HighPoint HPT372 RAID controller.

I've just released an updated nvnet RPM that supports the new 2.4.20-13.9 kernel as well as the older kernels.

Happy Cinco de Mayo. In celebration, I've posted a new nvnet RPM that is based on the newer 1.0-0256 driver and supports both the release 2.4.20-8 kernel and the errata 2.4.20-9 kernel. Enjoy!

I've posted an nForce network driver RPM for Red Hat 9. This RPM is designed to support multiple kernels, so I can upgrade it whenever errata kernels are released and it will support both the old and new kernels with one RPM.

This allows you to do a network install of RedHat 8.0 on the Abit NV7-133R. It may work on other nForce motherboards as well.
